Working: Volume 2, Number 1 - Issue 5 Spring 2023

You're Here Now

You’re here now
In my bed, sleeping tight.
Why?
You could leave
You should leave
To be with someone better,
To be loved better.

Yet

You’re here now.
I tremble when you touch me.
Your lukewarm breath against
My lukewarm heart
Makes me question everything now.

Yes,
You’re here now.
What do I do with that?
I want to run, but
The weight of the world holds me fast
To the bed (Our bed?)

I’m still here.
