Royal Constellations​

Issue 8

Clusters of stars and shapes of dignity ram into your eyes
on a pedestal in your presence
singing joyous spheres of influence.
Courts, countries, and Cartier jewelry down from your head to your toes
arose from a throne you once knew
leaping into a galaxy staircase.
The new-age Kings and Queens are down a royal hallway;
shifting to free-falling fires in times of darkness.
Hold on to celestial romance before interlocking hands,
​while watching the strength of a kingdom take over the horizons.

TAI TIMMERMAN, a Biology major at Howard University, enjoys writing poetry in her spare time. Recently, her book, Your Rhythm and My Blues was published through Bookleaf Publishing. Moreover, her other poem “The Howling Wolf” was published by Empyrean Literary Magazine as a December New Moon Special in 2022. Her newer works, “Aristotle’s Act Of Virtue”, “Anatomy Of Our Friendship”, and “Commitment” were published in Issue 5: Vol 2., No.1 of the Empyrean Literary Magazine in March 2023.
