The Sun and the Moon

Issue 5
The sky was a bright blue with little puffy white clouds here and there. The sun shone brightly everywhere.
“she always seems so pale and delicate when she is out during the daytime,” the sun smiled. He spoke to the clouds and the celestial bodies that were close enough to hear and were listening to him. His smile widened and a light shone in his eyes when he spoke of the moon.
“the planets and stars that are ouit in the moring as well as at night tell lme that the moon shines so bright on some nights that she actually illuminates everything in sight,” his face beamed with pride as if it were his own accomplishment.
“oh, what I wouldn’t give to see her light up the night like that,” the sun said wistfully.
“its such a joy to see her during the day though,” he laughed merrily at trhe thought.
“I wait for those days almost holding my breath in anticipation and then when those days arrive,” the sun said dreamily.
“My heart fills with so much love and happiness as I watch her float nearer I think it might burst. Then when she is close enough to almost touch my heart skips a beat from the pure joy of seeing her and having her so near.”

“I remember the first time I saw her. she took my breath away. I knew then that I loved her. I know now that my love for her only grows stronger with the passing of time,” he smiled at the knowledge.
“the days without her are long and lonely. Those days I wish she could be with me every moment of every day. I spend the days without her waiting and watching for her continually. The pain of missing her is almost unbearable. The thought of never seeing her again makes me feel as if my heart is shattering and my soul is being torn into pieces.”

He closed his eyes a moment. Teardrops glistened on his eyelashes. None who listened spoke. All knew how much the sun loved the moon. It had always been this way or so it seemed.
“then there will come a day when she will appear once again and come gliding across the sky toward me. Those are the times I feel my life is complete. My heart feels filled to the point of bursting with love for her. I would gladly die a thousand deaths every night for just a glimse of her. she who is my everything.
