two (or, purity culture metaphors).
i threw just enough of a temper tantrum to get out of soccer a couple years later
but the one thing i could never get away from
the eyes of every other twelve year old in my church small group,
as the pastor separates us girls from the boys
and with a cross of arms i try and fail to keep the shame from falling out of me
i wonder what kind of used car i would be.
(and if my apparent future husband would still love a chevrolet instead of a challenger)
