i threw just enough of a temper tantrum to get out of soccer a couple years later
but the one thing i could never get away from sunday mornings. the eyes of every other twelve year old in my church small group, as the pastor separates us girls from the boys and with a cross of arms i try and fail to keep the shame from falling out of me clean open i wonder what kind of used car i would be. (and if my apparent future husband would still love a chevrolet instead of a challenger) |
ICARUS GREY won 3rd Place of the Poetry Writing Contest. Icarus is a poet currently based in the Midwest and hailing from Nebraska. Previously having completed part of an AA in English Literature and Creative Writing, they are at present taking a break to focus on their body of work. Having recently completed their first chapbook, The Ancestors Walk in the Garden, they are making preparations to put it out into the world. They are in pursuit of new experiences as well as connecting with their indigenous Sami culture every day.
