Because of Fear​

Issue 13

Because you were always afraid, we bought:
A great big house,
A lake cabin,
A pontoon boat,
Forty-three dogs,
Grand vacations;
On those beautiful trips, we visited:
The Grand Tetons
And Yellowstone,
Scottish Highlands,
The south of France
And Tuscany;
And in all those sunny places we had:
Such fine coffee,
The oldest wine,
The richest food,
Exotic food
And fine dessert!
Because you were so fearful. Or was it,
Was it because
Some fantasy
Had unrooted
Us both from time,
Caught up ourselves?
