The sun bent down and kissed the trees
and left them with its residue golden, orange and fading falling until I wade through puddles of fallen sun scattered rays of earthbound light crackle like bones beneath my feet a satisfying crunch that whispers memento mori with every step each skeletal sundrop painted beautifully in warmth masking the cloying taste of rot beneath |
