Runner's Epitaph

Issue 15
When a runner dies
have not a care for
their bank balance size.

Their preeminent
qualification,
or immense mansion.

The fancy title
that came with their job,
or scale of their pay.

Just remember their
personal best times
for 5 and 10k!

MICHAEL EYRE writes poems. A number of his pieces have been published in literary magazines or been highly commended in poetry competitions. He is a graduate of Liverpool University and the University of Central Lancashire.
