When it’s over
I will no longer think of striding by the cartoon portraits that banked the sturdying saplings I will no longer think of the late afternoon at the Whitney and a trickle of understanding: it would have been better if I had been dead I will no longer have to but shoulder the weather-- wind and concrete, and how could one leave such a vortex I will no longer think of you and what it meant when you had mattered the city remained a joke for someone no longer laughing |
Bethany Ludwig-Eagan lives in Upstate New York with her husband and two cats. Despite graduating from SUNY Binghamton with a degree in philosophy, she currently works in financial services and is studying to become a Chartered Financial Consultant.
